Who can book a Counselling appointment?
This service is only available for Canadian residents (women), 14 and over.
What types of therapy do the providers use?
Our licensed therapists offer Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). They may also utilize Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and other techniques depending on the needs of the client. However, as this service is considered short-term counselling the main type of therapy utilized will be SFBT.
Is my information secure?
Your privacy and the security of your information is of utmost importance to us. Electronic personal information shared with Nisa Helpline is stored in a secure and encrypted way. Your information will never be shared publicly or with third-party apps.
How much does it cost?
The helpline is free. The counselling service offers 5 free sessions and there’re no hidden costs.
How will I know if therapy is working for me?
Progress around therapy may look different for each client. This may be changes in mood, thoughts, feelings, relationships, or movement towards a particular goal. It is truly subjective for everyone.
If applicable, you will walk away with a relevant list of resources from our licensed therapists at the end of your three sessions.
Note: Being in therapy does not mean you will feel better right away. It is an intentional process; you will truly get back what you put into it. The more committed you are the better your results.
